includes periodically replacing the batteries to ensure consistent and reliable operation. This guide will walk you through the simple steps for replacing the batteries in your talking scale.
The Health-o-Meter 894KLT and 895KLT Scales are powered by Two AAA batteries.
The 894KLT and 895KLT scales are shipped without the batteries installed. The batteries are included in a small plastic bag. Follow these instructions to install batteries in a new scale or replace batteries in your current scale.

How to Replace / Insert Batteries
Open Battery Compartment
The battery compartment is located on the underside of the scale. To open the battery compartment cover, push the battery compartment tab to the right and lift upwards.
Install Batteries
Install two new AAA batteries. Health-o-Meter recommends using alkaline batteries. Do Not use zinc carbon batteries.
Follow the battery illustration to ensure the batteries are inserted in the proper direction.
Close the Battery Compartment Cover
To close the battery compartment, slide the end of the cover into the battery compartment. Then push down the tab and compartment cover to ensure the cover is firmly attached. A screw is not required to close the battery compartment. You may use the screw to further secure the battery compartment if desired. Do not use the scale with out the battery compartment cover attached.
Turn Scale On
Ensure all objects are removed from the scale’s platform, and then firmly tap the scale on with your foot in the center of the scale. Four digits will appear on the display. Wait for 0.0 to appear on the display. The scale will state when it is ready. Step on the scale until weight is displayed and announced.
Always use high-quality AA batteries for longer-lasting performance.
Avoid mixing old and new batteries to ensure consistent power delivery.
Warning: If the scale will not be used for some time, remove the batteries to avoid a safety hazard.
